To me, education has always been akin to breathing. The teacher and the student, teaching and learning parallel inbreath and outbreath.
Nature has always been my inner most guide and teacher and the way I think comes from reflecting on the larger systems of nature. Trees, seas and skies have been my mentors for a long time.
My parents and their belief in educating us with freedom and respect guided me to the field of education. Their personal vision of learning as a life-long joyous experience have been the greatest motivations for me to explore and research into education, with particular focus on arts and technology in education. However, as I read and reflect more and more, I realise that our education systems need to move towards ecological compassion and intelligence and work with holistic identity and consciousness that focus on sustainable living.
In the last several years, I find my own life unsustainable and disconnected from nature. In the coming years, I hope my learnings from Nature will also reflect in conservation related work and in a changed life style.
