InstallationsWorking with space is an intriguing experience. And depending on the material, space transforms idea and idea in turn shapes space. I occasionally enjoy exploring ideas through installations. A few images from three of my installation works.
The Temple Exploring the idea of self reflection, 'The temple' was an installation I created in 2001, to ask myself how we could look beyond our external selves to explore our internal selves. Each reflection creates endless reflections, almost like ripples. Can we pause amidst them, to find our identity, our prayer, our sense of humanity? - Our temple? Conversations What are the subtle conversations that are taking place in the universe all the time, the abstract ones, that we barely notice. Using cut bamboo, I explored a series of conversations, abstract, vital, simple and unnoticed. Dance and Theatre as Mandalas taking shape What is the central spirit that drives Indian art forms? What are the unified forces that spread across our varied identities, geographical locations and performing styles? Is it spiritual, experiential or transcendental?
